Fortnite battle pass in Chapter 5 Season 4
For some players (and I’ll admit I’m one of them), the act of unlocking everything in the battle pass is almost as fun as playing the game itself. Fortnite’s latest battle pass does not disappoint, with several heroes and villains making their Fortnite debuts, including Emma Frost, Shuri, and War Machine. There are, of course, new Epic-Marvel mash-ups, too, like the instantly iconic Peelverine, a cross between Wolverine and Fortnite’s near-mascot, the anthropomorphic banana, Peely.
You can check out all the new skins in our Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 battle pass gallery, which will showcase all 100+ rewards to earn this season once downtime ends.
Fortnite new weapons in Chapter 5 Season 4
This season’s loot pool is getting a massive overhaul. The new weapons available this time around outnumber the changes seen in many previous seasons. Part of that is owed to how many items are coming straight from the Marvel source material, such as Captain America’s red, white, and blue shield, which also serves as a very painful type of frisbee in the right hands.
Check out our guide on Fortnite new weapons in Chapter 5 Season 4 to get a complete rundown of all the new weapons you’ll find stashed in chests, dropped by bosses, and pilfered from defeated enemies.
Fortnite map changes in Chapter 5 Season 4
A new season means a new version of the island. And this particular season, of course, means those changes take on the shape of iconic Marvel locales such as The Raft, a supermax prison for the universe’s most problematic baddies.
This spot and more can be explored in Chapter 5 Season 4, so use our Fortnite map changes guide to get a closer look at all there is to see on the island this season. Where are you dropping first?
Changes to Fortnite Reload
For players who have migrated to Fortnite’s Reload mode, either part- or full-time, will like learning that the sweaty mode is getting new features this season, too, though Epic didn’t yet reveal what those would be.
These future changes don’t seem to relate to the rumor that Fortnite OG is returning for a second run later this year, this time with an emphasis on Fortnite Chapter 2. It seems Reload is its own standalone mode going forward, with the nostalgic OG event kicking off separately, though we’ll need to wait for official details to confirm or disprove our suspicions.
New Medallions
It seems the Medallion system is here to stay, too, as they’ve been in every season of Chapter 5–albeit once under the name of Aspects instead. This season’s Medallions sound less OP than some in the past, which is either good news or bad news, depending on who you ask.
In any event, here’s what you’ll get with this season’s risk-versus-reward toys, Medallions:
- Siphon Medallion – Located in Castle Doom and equipped by the Doombot boss, this Medallion refills your shield by stealing shield HP from eliminated opponents.
- Stealth Medallion – Worn by the Mystero boss within Doomstadt, this Medallion grants temporary invisibility when you’re crouched.
- Reveal Medallion – Emma Frost keeps this Medallion on her at all times, unless you defeat her at The Raft, at which point you’ll gain the buff of occasionally pinging nearby enemies.
When does Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 end?
Epic doesn’t formally announce this until it’s nearly time to end the season officially, and the date can move between now and then, but judging by the battle pass end date, Chapter 5 Season 4 will conclude on November 2.
After that, we do expect to see a month of Fortnite OG centered around Chapter 2, before a new Chapter kicks off in December. We’ll replace our reasonable speculation with facts once we learn more. But for now, plan to be playing on this Marvel-ified island until just after Halloween.
